LEXINGTON-BEDFORD YOUTH HOCKEY MISSION STATEMENT

 

 

Lexington-Bedford Youth Hockey (LBYH) is a non-profit recreational youth hockey program. LBYH does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, national origin, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation.

 

LBYH’s mission includes the following:

 

  • Provide a safe, healthy and fun environment in which to learn the game of hockey.

  • Offer boys and girls the opportunity to participate and play hockey in a manner that fosters sportsmanship and fair play through skill development and competition.

  • Emphasize education, personal development, and teamwork.

  • Build character and encourage players to become good citizens and ambassadors of the sport.

  • To always remember that LBYH is “about the kids.”

LBYH Board objectives to advance our mission: 

 

Attract quality people:

 

  • Recruit and develop skilled and knowledgeable coaches.

  • Provide high quality coaching and skill development training.

  • Encourage parents and others in the community to volunteer and actively participate in the administration of the program and LBYH-sponsored events.

  • Foster a greater understanding of the game of hockey in the community at large to promote and encourage the growth of the sport.

 

Offer competitive and affordable programs that serve all of LBYH:

 

  • Promote the sport and provide the maximum number of youth the opportunity to participate in the sport.   

  • Recognize and address the need for player development for both recreational and competitive purposes.

  • Provide affordable programs that seek to maximize the participation of all players within the constraints of costs and ice time.

  • Strive to allow all children the opportunity to participate in the program regardless of their financial status within the financial constraints of LBYH.

  • Seek community financial support from corporate sponsors and individuals to assist with the costs of the program.
