Hockey is a skills dependent sport. The best way to acquire skills like good skating technique, strong puck skills, and passing is through repetition and training. With the season now underway we wanted to provide a list of skills providers that LBYH endorses in the event that players and families are interested in additional training. The following skills/training sessions and their providers are separate from LBYH and questions should be directed to those providers.
Here is a list of local hockey skills providers (listed in alphabetical order) that LBYH endorses. We will continue to post additional skills and camps/clinics offerings as the season progresses.

Driscoll Skating & Skills
Power and edge Skating: Ten-week curriculums that will cover the most important elements of Power Skating including focus on Inside Edges; Outside Edges; Single Leg Edge Work; Long Stride; Crossovers; Open Hip; Tight Turns; Punch Step; Backwards Skating; and Defensive Skating Tactics.
Spring 2019, Driscoll Skating & Skills will be teaching Power Skating at the following locations (10 80-minute sessions beginning April 15th):
Stoneham Arena (Stickhandling with Movement on Mondays and Power Skating on Wednesdays)
- Warrior Arena in Brighton (Power Skating on Tuesdays)
- Boch Ice Center in Dedham (Power Skating on Thursdays)
- Chase Arena in Natick (Power Skating on Fridays)
Summer camp at the Warrior Arena is also available now using the following link. This full day camp features daily viewing of Bruins’ training camp practices in between on-ice sessions.
Except where noted, each program will feature ten 80-minute Power Skating sessions. Each session will be designed to teach a specific Power Skating component. The first 40-50 minutes of each session will be a progressive series of drills, and the last 20-30 minutes of each session will be incorporating pucks and moving at full speed with Stickhandling and Passing.
Our approach is simple. We create a positive, hockey-rich environment that is primarily dedicated to teaching Power Skating. Our pace of play is deliberate and we follow a teaching blueprint: i) explanation of the drill; ii) demonstration of the drill by an instructor; iii) player performs drill; iv) correction of player at individual level v) repeat as necessary vi) move on to the following progression of the drill. We are always working towards execution of Power Skating movements at top speed. Extremely hands-on approach that values proper explanation and demonstration. Players of all ages and skill levels benefit greatly from our approach.

General Website Info: https://www.fusionhockey.us/
The philosophy of Fusion Hockey is to refine and improve player fundamentals in the three S's, or skating, shooting and stickhandling.
The game of hockey has changed dramatically over the past 20 years from a rugged, dump and chase style of play to a game dominated by speed, skill, and agility. Being able to make plays using high-end edge work, cuts, and stop and starts are all key factors to success in today's game.
While skating has always been, and always will be the central focus of the game, today, puck possession is equally important.
At Fusion Hockey we teach the necessary skills, ranging from stickhandling, body positioning, and puck protection techniques, to improve puck possession skills.

The Most On-Ice Instruction. The Best Results.
Using the CARTER Method, skaters build on each days' skills and are challenged to reach their full potential as the hockey camp progresses. We don't teach systems or plays at our hockey schools – we leave that to your team coaches. We teach fundamentals of skating, stick handling, and shooting, and we teach in a way that builds confidence and leads to continuous improvement. Simply put, at our hockey camps and hockey clinics we offer you the most on-ice instruction with the best results.
CONTROL AGILITY REFLEX TECHNIQUE EDGE: Our hockey camps educate all students on the importance of body control. We have designed a sequence of drills to help them understand and enhance body movements to improve their overall balance and body posture.
